Job summary

Change Recruitment is seeking a part-qualified accountant to join its established finance team in Scotland. The role blends management accounting with financial accounting and statutory reporting, offering broad exposure across the function.

You'll prepare monthly management accounts, perform variance analysis, support budgeting and forecasting, and assist with year-end processes and audits, while developing your accounting career.

Qualifications

• Part-qualified status with ACA, ACCA or CIMA
• Experience within a management or financial accounting environment
• Good knowledge of month-end and year-end accounting processes
• Exposure to statutory accounts and audit
• Strong Excel and financial analysis skills

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reporting packs
• Produce variance analysis and commentary

• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and review control accounts
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
• Support the preparation of statutory accounts and financial statements
• Assist with audit requirements and liaising with external auditors
• Support VAT and other financial reporting requirements
• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with accounting standards
• Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and controls
• Work closely with stakeholders across the wider organisation
• Provide financial insight and analysis to support business decisions

The Role

Working as part of the finance function, you'll have a varied role covering both management and financial accounting responsibilities. Key responsibilities will include:

• Producing meaningful variance analysis and commentary
• Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes
• Preparing balance sheet reconciliations and reviewing control accounts
• Assisting with month-end and year-end close processes
• Supporting the preparation of statutory accounts and financial statements
• Assisting with audit requirements and liaising with external auditors
• Supporting VAT and other financial reporting requirements
• Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with accounting standards
• Identifying opportunities to improve financial processes and controls
• Working closely with stakeholders across the wider organisation
• Providing financial insight and analysis to support business decisions

About You

We're looking for a part-qualified accountant who is keen to develop their technical accounting and commercial finance experience. You'll ideally have:
