PIC is recruiting for a Finance Accountant to join its Accounting & Finance Control team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing reinsurance-related financial information and supporting Senior Finance Accountants in effective month-end closing, focusing on IFRS17 accounting and reporting.

Key responsibilities include:

• Preparing month-end information related to reinsurance transactions, journals, reconciliations, data entry, and other general ledger and financial records for the Group, including P&L and Balance Sheet on IFRS and Solvency II basis.
• Ensuring timely completion of reinsurance-related balance sheet reconciliations.
• Performing analytical reviews of movements in reinsurance balances.
• Updating IFRS17 accounting models for the finance close process and supporting IFRS17 system operations.
• Managing daily reinsurance reconciliation and control account oversight.
• Investigating issues from transactions and reconciliation differences with relevant teams.
• Supporting other accounting tasks to ensure smooth month-end closing.
• Maintaining reconciliation files for all General Ledgers in Oracle for IFRS and Solvency II.
• Liaising with external auditors as needed.
• Maintaining effective accounting controls for accurate month-end reporting.
• Participating in ad-hoc projects and User Acceptance Testing when required.

Requirements

Knowledge:

• Understanding of accounting processes and controls
• Experience with ledger systems like Oracle
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
• Knowledge of IFRS and its application
• Familiarity with PRA reporting requirements

Experience:

• Experience in entity and group accounting within financial services, preferably insurance or within a Big 4 environment
• Experience in process improvement and simplification
