Job summary

Kiwa is seeking a Lighting Technician to inspect and test street lighting for highways across the UK. The role is field-based, requiring travel to client sites and on-site work with the team.

Qualifications

• Must have a Full UK driving license and be willing to travel to client sites.
• Ability to work independently, manage varied workload, and communicate clearly with clients.
• Interest in the field and a collaborative team worker mindset.
• Willing to stay away from home for assignments; previous related experience is desirable.
• HERS ECS card and HEA NVQ level 2 are desirable qualifications.

Job Summary

As a Lighting Technician, you will work closely with the wider team and the majority of the workload will consist of travelling and working on-site.

About the role

The main purpose of our Lighting Technicians is carrying out inspection and testing services, mainly on street lighting for the highways industries across the UK.

Your daily tasks will consist of the following components:

• Structural inspection and testing of highway lighting columns
• Communicating and liaison with clients and colleagues
• Recording accurately electronic test results to a high standard for reporting
• Working with our UKAS accredited systems
• Data collection of highway assets
• Corrosion investigation
• Be the face of Kiwa CMT when on site with customers

You’ll receive comprehensive training to ensure you have the knowledge and support needed to succeed.

Do you have what it takes?

• Hold a Full UK Valid driving license, as you will be using company vehicles to travel to and from client sites
• Be able to work with a varied workload
• Demonstrate an interest in the field of work
• Communication is key for this role; you will be able to make an impact and work well within a team
• Willing to work away from home
• Experience in a similar or cross over role (desirable)
• Holds a HERS ECS card and the HEA NVQ level 2 qualification (desirable)
