Job summary

Pertemps South Wales is seeking an experienced Technical Support Engineer in Bristol. The role involves hands-on support across a UK depot network and client sites, diagnosing faults on diesel generator sets and assisting with servicing, commissioning and upgrades. A strong fault-finding background and a willingness to travel are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience servicing and repairing diesel generator sets.
• Experience with FG Wilson or Cummins generators.
• Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.
• Relevant engineering qualification or completed apprenticeship.
• Electrical bias preferred.
• Full UK driving licence is essential.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults on generator equipment.
• Carry out servicing, repairs, commissioning and modifications.
• Attend customer sites for technical support and site surveys.
• Support engineers with complex fault-finding and technical issues.
• Work on Stage V generators and modern rental equipment.
• Provide technical training and mentoring to engineers.
• Support upgrades, product introductions and technical investigations.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and to a high standard.
