Job summary

Pertemps Bond is seeking an experienced Technical Support Engineer to join our Bristol-based team. You will provide technical support across a UK depot network and customer sites, acting as a point of escalation for engineers dealing with faults, repairs and commissioning.

This hands-on role involves diesel generator sets, fault diagnosis, repairs, upgrades, commissioning and technical projects. The position supports ongoing training and career progression.

Qualifications

• Experience servicing and repairing diesel generator sets is essential.
• Experience with FG Wilson, Cummins or similar generators.
• Strong mechanical and electrical fault‑finding skills.
• Relevant engineering qualification or completed apprenticeship.
• Electrical bias preferred.
• Understanding of LV distribution and changeover systems.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults on generator equipment.
• Carry out servicing, repairs, commissioning and modifications.
• Attend customer sites for technical support and site surveys.
• Support engineers with complex fault‑finding and technical issues.
• Work on Stage V generators and modern rental equipment.
• Provide technical training and mentoring to engineers.
• Support engineering upgrades, product introductions and technical investigations.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and to a high standard.

Salary: £39,000 – £50,000 DOE
Hours: Full-Time, Permanent

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Technical Support Engineer to join a growing technical support team in Bristol.

You will provide technical support across a UK depot network and customer sites, acting as a point of escalation for engineers dealing with more complex faults, repairs and commissioning work.

This is a hands‑on role working with diesel generator sets, supporting fault diagnosis, repairs, upgrades, commissioning and technical projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults on generator equipment
• Carry out servicing, repairs, commissioning and modifications
• Attend customer sites for technical support and site surveys
• Support engineers with complex fault‑finding and technical issues
• Work on Stage V generators and modern rental equipment
• Provide technical training and mentoring to engineers

• Ensure all work is completed safely and to a high standard

About You
