Job summary

National Grid Electricity Distribution (NGED) in the UK seeks an Operational Team Leader for the Major Projects team, based in Cardiff or Swansea. You will lead around 20 Craft colleagues to safely and efficiently deliver a major projects programme across East Wales, driving performance and ensuring training and authorisations are in place.

You will manage performance via regular 1:1s and oversee safe, compliant delivery in line with Health & Safety policies, with travel as required.

Qualifications

• Excellent communicator with proven track record of managing teams.
• Experience in safety-critical or regulated industries and sound judgement.
• Understanding of Health and Safety legislation and Electricity at Work Regulations.

Responsibilities

• Ensure adherence to Health and Safety regulations.
• Efficiently schedule work activities.
• Collaborate with other teams to manage workload.
• Drive team productivity and performance management.
• Maintain a full schedule of work for the team.
• Ensure staff have training and authorisations for safe work.
