Job summary

Thrive Personnel Services Ltd is recruiting two Solar PPM Engineers to maintain and optimise commercial solar PV installations in Dewsbury and surrounding areas. The role covers planned maintenance, testing, and proactive fault analysis to keep systems safe and efficient.

You will generate maintenance reports, interpret test results, and coordinate with customers and teams while maintaining high safety standards. A UK driving licence and solar experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience with commercial solar PV installations and maintenance activities.
• Good understanding of solar PV systems, inverters, isolators and electrical equipment.
• Experience with low-voltage electrical installations and modifications.
• Knowledge of fault-finding techniques and system performance analysis.
• Experience using solar PV testing equipment and monitoring platforms.
• Understanding of health and safety legislation and Permit to Work systems; able to work at height.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance inspections on commercial solar PV systems, completing routine testing and condition assessments to ensure installations remain safe and operational.
• Analyse on-site test results and compare findings with remote monitoring data to assess system performance and identify potential issues.
• Identify and report defects, performance concerns and equipment failures, recommending appropriate remedial action where required.
• Undertake minor remedial works and support corrective maintenance activities to help maintain system efficiency and reliability.
• Produce detailed maintenance reports, including inspection findings, test results and recommendations for repairs, replacements or upgrades.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, testing results and completed works, ensuring all documentation is up to date.
• Obtain quotations for replacement equipment and materials where necessary.
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with relevant health and safety legislation, company procedures, service level agreements and safe working practices.
• Liaise with customers, subcontractors and internal teams to coordinate maintenance activities and ensure effective service delivery.
