Bowmay Consulting Ltd is seeking an experienced Mechanical Field Service Engineer to commission and maintain machinery across the UK and global customer sites. The role involves regular overseas travel and on-site support, with responsibilities spanning emergency repairs, commissioning, and training.

You will read mechanical drawings, work with hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and supervise contractors on larger projects while coordinating with internal teams to ensure service excellence.

Qualificações

• Time-served mechanical engineer background or equivalent qualification.
• Experience as a Mechanical Field Service Engineer in servicing/assembly of industrial machinery.
• Proficiency with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to read and understand mechanical assembly drawings.
• Willingness to travel regularly across UK and overseas.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and meet tight schedules.
• Valid UK driving licence.

Responsabilidades

• Commission and maintain machinery across UK and international sites.
• Carry out emergency repairs and routine maintenance on customer equipment.
• Commission new machinery on site.

• Provide on-site training to customer personnel on maintenance tasks.

About You

• Time-served Mechanical Engineer or holding a relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering
• Experienced Mechanical Field Service Engineer with a background in the assembly or servicing of industrial machinery
• Confident working with hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Able to read and understand mechanical assembly drawings
• Happy travelling regularly throughout the UK and overseas
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision and to tight schedules
• Valid UK Driving Licence

About The Job

• A key part of the role will be commissioning and maintaining machinery across UK and global customer sites
• You'll carry out emergency repairs, maintenance and service work on customer equipment
• As part of the role, you'll commission new machinery and equipment on site
• You'll supervise contractors during larger installation and commissioning projects
• Delivering on-site training to customer personnel covering routine maintenance and service tasks
• You'll produce clear technical reports detailing work carried out and recommendations for further action
• You'll liaise directly with internal Engineering and Production teams regarding issues identified on site
• When you're not travelling, you'll support factory-based maintenance, machine assembly and repair operations when required
