BMS Performance Ltd. is recruiting a Field Service Technician to service and repair commercial printing equipment across customer sites in the Midlands, including Stoke-on-Trent, Derby and Nottingham.
You will diagnose faults, perform repairs, and carry out preventative maintenance while supporting customers with IT/network integration. The role requires hands-on mechanical and electronic expertise, a full UK driving licence, and willingness to travel with occasional overtime.
Our client is an established international technology business specialising in commercial printing, office equipment and document management solutions.
With a strong presence throughout the UK, the organisation supplies and supports a wide range of technology used by businesses and public sector organisations in their day-to-day operations.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a stable organisation offering long-term career development and progression into more senior technical positions.
This is a field-based engineering position responsible for installing, maintaining, servicing and repairing commercial printing equipment, including multifunction printers (MFPs), photocopiers, scanners and associated office technology.
You’ll work with a varied customer base, including commercial offices, educational facilities and healthcare environments, ensuring equipment remains operational and customers receive a high standard of technical support.
The position combines hands‑on mechanical and electronic fault‑finding with IT and networking responsibilities. You’ll be diagnosing hardware faults, replacing components, carrying out preventative maintenance and assisting with the configuration of equipment on customer networks.
You’ll manage your own daily schedule, attending customer sites to investigate faults, complete repairs and minimise equipment downtime.
Although you’ll work independently throughout the territory, you’ll have access to an experienced technical support team and senior engineers whenever additional assistance is required.
Full product‑specific training will be provided, allowing you to build on your existing technical knowledge and develop specialist expertise.
Candidates with experience in printer servicing, photocopier maintenance, IT hardware repair or electromechanical equipment support are encouraged to apply. Previous experience with a particular manufacturer is not essential, as product-specific training will be provided.
Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week
This is a field-based position, with engineers attending customer sites during normal business hours.
Occasional overtime may be available.
The role will primarily cover customers across the Midlands, with a particular focus on Stoke-on-Trent, Derby and Nottingham. Some travel towards Birmingham and surrounding areas may also be required.
