Job summary

AMCS Group is seeking a Field Service Engineer to support hardware and software on refuse collection vehicles across Huddersfield, Manchester and Yorkshire. The role focuses on installation, commissioning, testing, and field troubleshooting in a dynamic, customer-driven environment.

You will work with the field service team, maintain records in the ERP system, travel as required and ensure a high first-time fix rate while delivering proactive customer support and quality service.

Qualifications

• HNC / HND in a relevant discipline.
• 1-2 years experience in a Field Service or Engineering role.
• Good diagnostic and problem solving skills.
• Ability to work on own initiative and multi-task.
• Hands-on approach with mechanical/practical experience.
• Strong understanding of customer service.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission and test AMCS hardware and software on refuse vehicles.
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment in the field and retest.
• Provide timely responses to customers.
• Schedule and perform preventative maintenance.
• Keep accurate service records.
• Monitor equipment performance via data reports.
• Proactively liaise with customers to detect issues early.
• Collaborate with the team for knowledge transfer and quality.
• Log all visits in the ERP system and report outcomes.
• Report customer feedback to service coordinator and sales.
• Escalate complaints to service manager.
• Manage service parts inventory to maintain first-time fix rate.
