Job summary

AMCS Group is seeking a Field Service Engineer to cover Huddersfield, Manchester, Yorkshire region. The role involves field maintenance of on-board hardware and software on refuse vehicles, with travel across the region and a hands-on, customer-focused approach.

You will install, test, and commission systems, troubleshoot faults in the field, and maintain detailed service records. A driving licence and 1–2 years in a similar role are essential, with opportunities for training and progression.

Qualifications

• Ability to work on own initiative and to multi-task.
• Hands-on mechanical and practical approach.
• Strong understanding of customer service.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission and test AMCS hardware and software on vehicles.
• Troubleshoot and repair field equipment failures.
• Provide timely responses to customers and schedule preventative maintenance.
• Maintain accurate records of all work in our ERP system.
• Monitor field equipment performance via data reports.
• Liaise with customers to detect issues early.
• Collaborate with installation/field service team for knowledge transfer.
• Manage service parts inventory and stock within territory.
• Report customer experiences and opportunities to sales.
• Travel as required with a valid driving licence.
