Role Overview

Are you a technically savvy Field Service Engineer and problem solver with experience in the Highway and Traffic sectors? If so, the Field Service Engineer role covering between Carlisle and Glasgow could be perfect for you!

As part of a dynamic operations team, you'll play a key role in installing, maintaining, and commissioning advanced technology across sectors including highways, local authorities, and private contracts. You'll have the autonomy to manage your work from a home base while collaborating with a forward-thinking team that values efficiency, precision, and innovation.

Your Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and commission traffic measurement equipment, signalling systems, and specialist infrastructure solutions.
• Troubleshoot faults, resolve technical issues, and ensure high-performance service delivery.
• Work independently and collaborate with a diverse team of professionals.
• Operate power tools, generators, and other specialist equipment with care.
• Travel within the UK, and occasionally overseas, to support project implementations.

Minimum Requirements

• A Full UK driving licence.
• Experience in a previous Field Service Engineer role.
• Strong MS Office skills and familiarity with PC-based technologies.
• Logical mindset with excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• CSCS, SWQR Operative, or Supervisor qualifications.
• Customer-focused communication skills ensuring top-tier service.

Desirable Skills

• Experience working on Highways or Traffic Control Equipment.
• Electrical qualifications such as ECS card, 17th or 18th edition wiring regs.
• Highways Electrical Certification or HERS portfolio evidence.
