Job summary

TRS Consulting is seeking a technically motivated Field Service Engineer to service and repair medical and laboratory diagnostic systems used in pathology departments and NHS laboratories. You will visit customer sites, troubleshoot equipment, and liaise with laboratory staff to deliver reliable diagnostics.

The role requires electronics background and field service experience, with full product training provided.

Qualifications

Demonstrated experience as a field service engineer or technical support engineer with extensive work on high‑value capital equipment and a qualification in electronics.
Experience with diagnostic systems, medical devices, laboratory systems, scientific equipment, pharmaceutical, semiconductor, pre‑press, printing or high‑value electronic/electro‑mechanical capital equipment.
Full product training will be provided; candidates from diverse background in field service and customer support will be considered.

Responsibilities

Provide service and breakdown repair on a wide range of sophisticated medical and laboratory diagnostic systems used within pathology departments, NHS laboratories and clinical chemistry environments.
Visit customer sites and offer valuable troubleshooting solutions.
Liaise with a wide range of external customer contacts, including laboratory managers and laboratory technicians from the NHS as well as private independent scientific organisations and laboratories.
