Job summary

Omega Plc is seeking a Field Service Engineer (Switchgear) for the South England region (London - Midlands). The role delivers maintenance, diagnostics and technical support for critical power distribution systems across diverse sites, requiring expertise in LV/MV switchgear to keep electrical infrastructure safe and reliable.

You will perform planned and reactive maintenance, diagnose faults, and prepare detailed reports while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

Degree, HNC, HND or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
Minimum 3 years' experience in Field Service, Maintenance or Service Engineering.
Strong knowledge of LV and/or MV switchgear systems and power.

Responsibilities

Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on LV and MV switchgear and related equipment.
Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults, identify root causes and implement solutions.
Perform inspection, testing, troubleshooting and repair to minimise downtime.
Produce detailed service reports and maintenance documentation.
Build strong relationships with customers and provide technical advice.
Ensure all works comply with health, safety, quality and environmental procedures.
Mentor junior engineers and technicians when required.
Participate in commissioning, upgrades and modernisation projects as needed.
Represent the business professionally with high levels of customer service.
