Job summary
Vantage Consulting is seeking a skilled Switchgear Installation Engineer for UK field-based roles. You will install, commission, and maintain LV/MV switchgear across industrial, commercial, or utility projects, ensuring installations meet safety and quality standards.
The role requires reading schematics, wiring diagrams and GA drawings, fault-finding, and collaborating with project managers on-site. Travel to customer sites, occasional overnight stays, and a valid UK driving licence are
Qualifications
- Proven experience installing and commissioning LV/MV switchgear.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of IEC/BS EN standards for electrical installations.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationwide.
Responsibilities
- Install, assemble, and commission LV/MV switchgear on-site.
- Carry out wiring, cabling, and terminations per drawings.
- Interpret schematics, GA drawings and wiring diagrams.
- Perform functional testing, inspections, and fault-finding.
- Ensure health and safety compliance and site procedures.
- Liaise with project managers, clients and on-site trades.
- Complete installation documentation and handover records.
- Support maintenance and retrofit projects as needed.
- Travel to customer sites with occasional overnight stays.
