Job summary
Vantage Consulting is seeking a Switchgear Installation Engineer for UK field-based roles. You will install, commission, and maintain LV/MV switchgear across industrial, commercial, or utility projects on-site. The role requires reading drawings, fault-finding, and liaising with project managers and clients.
Travel to sites and overnight stays will be required as part of project delivery. You will ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and IEC/BS EN standards, and complete
Qualifications
- Experience installing and commissioning LV/MV switchgear.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
- Knowledge of IEC BS EN standards and safety regulations.
- Willing to travel to customer sites, including overnight stays.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
Responsibilities
- Install, assemble, and commission LV/MV switchgear on-site.
- Carry out wiring, cabling, and terminations per drawings.
- Perform functional testing, inspections, and fault-finding.
- Complete installation documentation and handover records.
- Travel to customer sites as required, including overnight stays.
- Coordinate with project managers, clients, and other trades.
- Support maintenance, upgrades, and retrofit projects.
