Job summary

Barker Ross Group is recruiting for a Field Service Engineer on behalf of a leading specialist in mechanised irrigation and water management. The role covers installation, servicing, maintenance and repair of irrigation equipment across the UK.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on mechanical and electrical fault-finding abilities, experience in field service or maintenance, and a full UK driving licence. A proactive mindset and strong customer service are essential.

Qualifications

Experience in field service, maintenance or engineering roles.
Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.
Experience with hydraulics, pumps, diesel engines or industrial machinery.
Ability to work independently and manage own workload.
Good communication and customer service skills.
Proactive approach and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

Install, service, maintain and repair irrigation systems.
Diagnose and repair faults across mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and diesel systems.
Carry out planned preventative maintenance and emergency breakdown repairs.
Test equipment and ensure systems operate safely and efficiently.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams and manuals.
Provide professional technical support to customers on-site.
Complete service reports and maintain accurate records.
Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and performance.
Work safely and in accordance with company standards.
