Job summary

Ernest Gordon Recruitment is seeking a Field Service Engineer to install, commission and service end‑line packaging machinery across the UK. You will diagnose mechanical and electrical faults and travel to customer sites to keep systems running efficiently.

Role requires an engineering qualification, experience with industrial machinery and a clean UK driving licence. Expect UK-wide travel with occasional overnight stays and a company van provided.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Experience with industrial machinery or automated equipment.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Willingness to travel throughout the UK.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission and set up end‑line packaging machinery.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults.
• Work on pallet wrappers, conveyors, turntables, strapping and banding equipment.
• Complete service reports and provide technical feedback.
• Travel extensively throughout the UK, with occasional overnight stays.
• Attend the Wellingborough facility for repairs, training and meetings.
