Job summary

Interaction Recruitment is seeking a Field Engineer (Heavy Plant) for its East Anglia operations, based in Newmarket. The role involves maintenance of heavy plant across multiple sites, with a focus on preventing faults and rapid breakdown response.

The ideal candidate has a mechanical maintenance background, hydraulic/pneumatic system knowledge, and a full UK driving licence. Attractive earnings, overtime and progression opportunities available.

Qualifications

Recognised engineering qualification or equivalent hands‑on experience within heavy engineering.
Experience within heavy industrial, quarrying, recycling, aggregates, waste, manufacturing, or similar environments.
Solid mechanical maintenance background.

Responsibilities

Carry out planned preventative maintenance on heavy plant and site equipment.
Diagnose and repair mechanical faults to minimise downtime.
Respond promptly to breakdowns, plant shutdowns, and emergency call-outs.
Support site improvement projects, equipment upgrades, and reliability initiatives.
Maintain, inspect, and repair a range of heavy plant machinery.
Travel between sites across East Anglia as required.
