Job summary

NEOS Engineering Recruitment is seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer to join a well-established plant hire business. You will service, maintain and repair a wide range of construction plant, travelling to customer sites and company locations.

The role demands strong mechanical, electrical and hydraulic fault-finding skills, experience with diesel-powered equipment, and the ability to work independently with a professional approach.

Qualifications

• 10+ years' relevant plant engineering experience or 5+ years with NVQ Level 2/3 in Plant Maintenance.
• Experience on diesel-powered plant and construction equipment with fault-finding skills.
• Strong mechanical fault-finding ability; good understanding of hydraulic and electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned servicing and preventative maintenance on plant and construction equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults.
• Attend customer sites to investigate and repair breakdowns.
• Complete inspections, fault finding and general condition checks.
• Carry out repairs and component replacements to a high standard.
• Prepare machinery for hire and ensure equipment is safe and fit for use.
• Complete accurate service and inspection reports.
• Identify parts and materials required for repairs.
• Liaise professionally with customers on-site.
• Maintain company vehicles, tools and equipment.
• Ensure all work complies with health & safety procedures.
• Provide high level of customer service and represent the business professionally.
