Job description

Alexander James Recruiting are currently working with a national dealer of a leading forklift product that are looking to bring on a new Field Service Engineer to cover Southampton and the surrounding areas. With a competitive basic salary and great earning potential through commission opportunities and overtime, this is a great opportunity for an engineer looking to get into a new role or industry with progression potential.

Responsibilities

• Servicing a client base across Southampton and the surrounding areas with a focus on servicing forklift trucks
• Fixing and servicing other, related material handling & specialist equipment to include side-loaders and industrial cleaning equipment
• Ensuring excellent customer service and representing the company in the right way when visiting customer sites
• Attending the workshop from time to time and occasionally working on call

Requirements

The company have a preference for an individual with experience within the Material Handling industry, however this isn’t essential. They would also be interested in speaking with candidates with a background in plant hire, powered access, commercial vehicles or other industries with a strong hydraulics/mechanical or diagnostics focus. Another option the company would consider would be a recently qualified engineer looking to get into something long term and building a career. In terms of location, you will ideally be based in Southampton.
