We are recruiting a Mechanical Handling Field Service Engineer to join our South Field Service team, primarily within West London. This full-time role involves maintaining, repairing, servicing, and modifying material handling equipment. As an independent company, each challenge is unique, and we welcome your expertise.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Service, maintenance, overhaul, fault finding, and resolution on various material handling products
  • Servicing gas, diesel, and electric forklift trucks
  • Using check sheets to verify brakes, lifting assemblies, and steering
  • Changing oil and filters as needed
  • Conducting thorough examinations (pending qualifications)
  • Performing preventative maintenance (lubricating steering and lifting equipment)
  • Battery maintenance, including checking voltages and fluid levels
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Experience with material handling products or a background in engineering, automotive, roadside recovery, agricultural, REME, construction equipment, PSV, HGV, LGV, or plant machinery
  • Responding to breakdowns promptly
  • Excellent customer service skills and rapport building
  • Ability to show initiative and support team members
  • Achieving response time targets
  • Completing documentation to company standards
  • Stock management liaison
  • Experience working on mobile machinery (brakes, steering, wheels, lift chains)
  • Knowledge of electrical drive/control systems, engines, hydraulics
Essential Requirements:
  • Full UK driving license
  • City and Guilds qualification in electrical/mechanical engineering or equivalent experience
  • Diagnostic computer skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Experience with heavy goods, plant machinery, or automotive engineering
