Job summary

Baxter Aerospace, Inc. is seeking an experienced field engineer to support military aircraft communications at RAF Fairford, Gloucestershire.

You will set up and diagnose networks for payload data distribution, troubleshoot satellite and DoD systems, and train field personnel on repairs and inspections. The role requires travelling to domestic and international sites, working in fast-paced environments, and being clearance eligible.

Qualifications

• Bomber aircraft experience required.
• Experience with computer networking.
• Project management or avionics repair troubleshooting experience.
• Experience with DoD communication systems including RF, networking and software.
• Field support experience with aircraft.
• Security clearance eligible.
• Proactive, self-directed and customer-focused.
• Willingness to travel extensively.
• Ability to work in fast-paced environments.
• Passion to improve defense communications.

Responsibilities

• Set up, manage, and diagnose payload data networks.
• Troubleshoot satellite comms, red/black networks, VPNs, and firewalls.
• Travel to domestic and international customer sites.
• Train customer maintenance personnel on repairs and inspections.
• Serve as primary point of contact for customer inquiries.
• Communicate with pilots, ground crews, and engineers to resolve issues.
• Relay field data and feedback to engineering for product improvements.
