Job summary

Hyreus in the Glasgow area is seeking an experienced Generator Technician / Field Service Engineer to join our established power generation team. The role combines depot-based maintenance with field service, servicing diesel generators and related equipment to keep them reliable and safe for operation.

Ideal candidates have hands-on engineering experience in diesel power systems, with a flexible approach to travel across the UK.

Qualifications

• Previous generator or plant engineering experience required.
• Experience with fault-finding, servicing and preventative maintenance.
• Willing to work in depot and field-based environments with travel.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing, maintenance and repairs on diesel generators.
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical and electrical faults on generators.
• Prepare equipment for hire and customer use.
• Attend customer sites for breakdown repairs and preventative maintenance.
• Travel to sites across the region and wider UK as required.
• Ensure health and safety standards are followed.
