Astute's Renewables team is working exclusively with a business that provides a variety of services to the UK's energy storage, battery storage, and BESS market. They invest in, manage, develop, and originate battery storage projects. We are looking to add some Field Service Engineers to their team to strengthen their O&M team.

The Field Service Engineer role offers a salary of up to £50,000, depending on experience, with significant potential for personal and professional growth. The company operates internationally, so there may be future opportunities for international work.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Report to the O&M Manager
• Perform preventative and reactive maintenance across a portfolio of battery storage assets
• Troubleshoot and diagnose issues, conduct warranty repairs, and carry out commissioning works
• Perform firmware and software system upgrades
• Provide diagnostic and technical phone support to clients and customers as required
• Conduct risk assessments and implement necessary safety measures
• Assist the in-house development team with knowledge and advice during project development phases
• Inspect equipment and perform regular capacity tests
• Log all activities in the internal system
• Travel nationwide for business needs, staying overnight when necessary

Professional Qualifications

• At least a Level 3 electrical installation qualification
• ECS Gold Card (highly preferable)
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
• HVAP qualification (desired, with salary adjustments accordingly)
• Clean UK driving license

Experience

• Experience in O&M within large-scale renewables, ideally battery storage, but open to solar, wind, and other renewables

Personal Skills

• Committed and diligent, with a desire to progress
• Willing to travel extensively
• Motivated to make a positive impact in the renewable energy industry
