Job summary

Bennett & Game Recruitment Ltd. is seeking a Field Service Engineer to join their engineering team in the UK. The role involves UK-wide travel, with occasional international travel, to install, service and optimise end-of-line packaging machinery at customer sites.

You will diagnose mechanical and electrical faults, perform preventative maintenance, and provide on-site technical support while ensuring safety standards and professional service are maintained.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Good electrical fault-finding and diagnostic ability.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel UK-wide.
• Previous field service experience would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Diagnosing and resolving faults on industrial packaging machinery.
• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance and servicing.
• Attending customer sites to investigate and repair machinery breakdowns.
• Installing, commissioning and setting up new packaging machinery.
• Optimising machine performance and reducing operating costs.

Field Service Engineer

Salary: £30,000 - £40,000

Location: Wellingborough, UK wide travel

Field Service Engineer required. Our client is a growing specialist manufacturer of packaging machinery and solutions, supplying to customers across the UK. Due to the ongoing growth of the business, they are seeking a Field Service Engineer to join their engineering team. The role will involve UK-wide travel, with occasional international travel, and will provide the opportunity to work on a wide range of industrial packaging and automated machinery. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, servicing, repairing and optimising end-of-line packaging machinery at customer sites, whilst providing a professional and reliable service to customers.

Position Overview

• Diagnosing and resolving mechanical and electrical faults on industrial packaging machinery
• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance and servicing
• Attending customer sites to investigate and repair machinery breakdowns
• Installing, commissioning and setting up new packaging machinery
• Optimising machine performance, reliability and film usage
• Identifying opportunities to improve machine efficiency and reduce operating costs
• Providing professional technical support and guidance to customers on site
• Completing accurate engineer service reports and providing feedback to customers and the wider engineering team
• Working independently when required, whilst also supporting colleagues as part of the wider engineering team
• Representing the company professionally at customer sites
• Following appropriate health and safety procedures and company standards
• Working on a variety of end-of-line packaging equipment, including pallet wrappers, conveyors, strapping and banding machinery

Position Requirements

• Strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills
• Good electrical fault-finding and diagnostic ability
• Previous experience working with industrial machinery and/or automated equipment
• Ability to work independently, manage your own workload and prioritise tasks effectively
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Reliable, organised and professional approach to work
• Full UK driving licence
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively throughout the UK
• Minimum Level 3 qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, such as NVQ, A-Level, BTEC or equivalent
• Previous field service engineering experience would be advantageous

• £30,000 - £40,000 depending on experience + Paid overtime
