Job summary

Octagon Group is seeking a Field Service Engineer to join a nationally focused team, based in Sheffield with regular UK travel and occasional international assignments. The role centers on keeping high-end scientific instruments running, with emphasis on HPLC or Liquid Scintillation Counting experience.

The position requires strong communication, problem-solving, and the ability to work independently while supporting pre- and post-sales activities.

Qualifications

• Experience with Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) or Liquid Scintillation Counting.
• Holder of a Full UK driving licence.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Willingness to travel across the UK and internationally.
• Proficient with computers and instrument software.
• Ability to work independently and self-manage field assignments.

Responsibilities

• Install and train customers on scientific instruments and software.
• Perform preventative maintenance, IQ/OQ, and diagnostics.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting.
• Assist with product demonstrations and customer communications.
• Deliver pre- and post-sales support.
