SER Limited in Pontefract is seeking a Field Service Engineer to service, repair, install and commission packaging machinery across the North UK. The role suits someone with strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills who enjoys hands-on, customer-facing work.

You will travel to customer sites, diagnose PLC/automation systems, perform preventative maintenance, and provide on-site technical support.

Qualifications

• Strong electrical and mechanical maintenance skills.
• Experience in packaging machinery, automation or food processing.
• Confident fault finding and diagnosing technical issues.
• Experience with PLCs, automation and control systems is advantageous.
• Able to read electrical schematics and technical drawings.
• Proactive, professional and able to work independently on-site.
• Genuine team player who values customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Service, repair, install and commission a range of packaging machinery.
• Travel to customer sites across the North UK – M62.
• Carry out electrical and mechanical fault finding and diagnostics.
• Perform planned preventative maintenance and breakdown support.
• Work with automation, controls, electrical and pneumatic systems.
• Provide technical support and guidance to customers on-site.
• Complete service reports and maintain accurate documentation.

This is a Field Service Engineer role ideal for someone with strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills who enjoys working in a hands-on, customer-facing environment.
