Job summary

TalentTech Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Field Service Engineer for the UK & Ireland market. You will conduct ppm, service and breakdown repairs on materials testing and preparation lab equipment, with hands-on mechanical and electrical duties.

Expect to visit manufacturing and research sites and access equipment remotely for diagnostics. The role is Monday–Friday, 37.5 hours weekly, with roughly one night away per week.

Qualifications

• Engineering understanding from mechanical and electrical perspectives.
• Good practical electrical fault-finding abilities using a multimeter.
• Full UK driving licence and right to work in the UK (no sponsorship).

Responsibilities

• Perform ppm, service and breakdown repairs on lab materials testing equipment.
• Hands-on maintenance of mechanical and electrical components with some fault-finding.
• Visit manufacturing and research facilities and perform remote diagnostics where applicable.
• Work a Monday–Friday 37.5-hour week with about 1 night away from home per week.

Are you a practical, technically minded professional ready for your next challenge? Do you have some electrical fault-finding experience with a multi meter? Here, you'll be working for a manufacturer of equipment often found in the labs of manufacturers, universities and heavy industry. They're seeking a field service engineer to join an existing team.

Your Role as a Field Service Engineer

• Conducting ppm, service, and breakdown repairs to equipment found in materials testing and preparation labs.
• Being hands‑on with mechanical and electrical equipment, along with some electronic fault-finding.
• Visiting some desirable manufacturing and research facilities.
• You’ll be accessing some equipment remotely too to carry out diagnostics.
• A Monday - Friday role, 37.5 hours per week; an average of 1 night per week away from home.

• You’ll have a good engineering understanding from a mechanical and electrical perspective.
• This role would also suit an engineer from the armed forces.
• The service manager is ex-forces too.
• Existing field service experience is advantageous.
