Job summary

NEOS Engineering Recruitment is seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer to join a leading national plant hire company covering Oxford and the surrounding areas.

You will service, maintain and repair heavy plant machinery at customer sites, diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults and ensuring equipment is returned to operation quickly. A valid UK driving licence is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum field service experience on heavy plant and construction equipment.
• Strong fault-finding in mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Valid UK driving licence required.
• Ability to work independently in customer sites.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair Excavators, Dumpers, Rollers, Generators and similar plant.
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults on site.
• Attend customer sites promptly to fix breakdowns and perform routine servicing.
• Keep accurate service and repair records and report findings.

Field Service Engineer - Heavy Plant Machinery

Location: Oxford, Oxfordshire

Salary: £40,000 - £42,000 + Company Van + Overtime

Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

NEOS Engineering Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Field Service Engineer to join a leading national Plant Hire company covering Oxford and the surrounding areas.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an engineer with experience working on Heavy Plant, Construction Equipment, Powered Access or Generators to join a well-established business offering excellent earning potential, a company van and long-term career progression.

The Role

As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for the servicing, maintenance, repair and breakdown support of a wide range of Plant and Construction Machinery at customer sites.

• Carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs on Excavators, Dumpers, Rollers, Generators, Powered Access equipment and other Plant Machinery.
• Attending customer sites to diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults.
• Responding to machinery breakdowns and ensuring equipment is returned to operation efficiently.
• Completing routine servicing and preventative maintenance.
• Carrying out inspections and ensuring machinery meets safety standards.
• Maintaining accurate service and repair records.
• Working independently in the field while liaising with the depot and service teams.

The Ideal Candidate

• Previous experience as a Field Service Engineer, Mobile Plant Engineer, Heavy Plant Fitter, Plant Mechanic or similar.
• Experience working on Plant Machinery, Construction Equipment, Agricultural Machinery, Powered Access or Generators.
• Strong mechanical and hydraulic fault-finding skills.
• Ability to diagnose and repair machinery independently.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Relevant engineering qualifications are advantageous but not essential.

Engineers from Agricultural, HGV, Forklift and similar mechanical engineering backgrounds are also encouraged to apply.
