Job summary

Ernest Gordon Recruitment is seeking a Field Service Engineer to service and maintain specialist plant equipment and benefit from in-house training. The role covers a South patch with travel in a provided van.

You will join a long-standing plant equipment company offering a clear path to skilled hands-on development and generous overtime. With a mechanical or electrical background, you will be working Monday to Friday, typically 8:30am–5:30pm, with overtime adding extra earnings.

Qualifications

• Experience performing hands-on maintenance on machinery, plant or industrial equipment.
• Willing to travel across a patch and work with a broad range of specialist plant equipment.
• Background in mechanical or electrical disciplines preferred.

Are you a Field Service Engineer from a mechanical or electrical background looking to gain full inhouse training on a broad range of specialist plant equipment, with plenty of overtime opportunities to increase your earnings?

In this role you will be travelling in a provided van to cover a patch across the South, servicing and maintaining a range of specialist plant equipment for a leading supplier. They will invest in you through manufacturer training, with some work being completed in the workshop when needed.

Established over 30 years ago, this company turnover £30 million a year and the leading plant hire company in their niche. They are constantly developing their equipment and moving into new industries, making this an exciting time to get on board and learn new products.

This role would suit someone who has performed hands‑on maintenance on machinery, plant, industrial equipment or similar, looking for a varied role with ongoing in‑house training to develop their skill set.

The Role:

• Service and maintenance of specialist plant equipment
• Full training provided through in house facilities
• Covering a patch across the South, usually locally
• Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:30pm, 37 hours a week
• Overtime available, 1.5x on weekends, roughly 10-15 hours a week
