Mobile Plant Engineer / Field Service Engineer

Bristol & South West | Up to £19 per hour DOE + Overtime 1.5x + Company Van

Monday to Friday | No Weekends | Field-Based Role

Are you an experienced Plant Fitter or Field Service Engineer looking for a varied role with no weekend work, a company van and overtime opportunities?

We're recruiting a hands‑on engineer to service, repair and maintain heavy plant machinery across the South West. This is a varied field‑based position where you'll tackle everything from routine servicing and hydraulic fault finding to major repairs, engine overhauls and machine rebuilds.

What's on offer?

• Up to £19 per hour, depending on experience
• Overtime paid at 1.5x
• Monday to Friday, 42.5 hours per week
• No weekend working
• Company van, phone and laptop
• Home‑to‑site working when travelling directly to customers
• Varied engineering work with the opportunity to work independently

The Role

Covering Bristol, Bath, Swindon, Gloucestershire and the surrounding areas, you'll visit customer sites to maintain and repair excavators, telehandlers and associated heavy plant machinery.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Servicing, maintaining and repairing heavy plant equipment
• Diagnosing faults across diesel engines, hydraulic, mechanical and electrical systems
• Attending breakdowns and carrying out effective on‑site repairs
• Undertaking component replacements, engine overhauls and major machine rebuilds
• Carrying out welding, fabrication and structural repairs
• Completing Thorough Examinations and structural safety inspections

About You

We're interested in speaking with experienced:

• Mobile Plant Fitters
• Heavy Plant Engineers
• Field Service Engineers
• Agricultural Engineers or Heavy Vehicle Technicians with transferable skills

You'll ideally have strong mechanical and hydraulic fault‑finding skills, experience working on heavy machinery, a full UK driving licence and the ability to work independently.

Welding, fabrication and Thorough Examination experience would be beneficial. Relevant engineering qualifications are advantageous but not essential.
