SER Limited is seeking a Field Service Engineer to service heavy plant machinery in the Northwest, with a focus around Manchester. The role offers a generous benefits package and clear opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Field Service Engineer with heavy plant machinery.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Relevant engineering qualification (NVQ/City & Guilds or equivalent).
• A full UK driving license is required.

Responsabilités

• Perform maintenance, diagnostics and repairs on heavy plant machinery (excavators, loading shovels).
• Provide on-site customer service across the Northwest.
• Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic and electrical issues efficiently.
• Maintain accurate service records and documentation.
• Collaborate with technical support for complex issues.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations and company standards.

This fully remote role offers an excellent opportunity to work independently while covering the Northwest region, with a focus on Manchester and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a range of heavy plant machinery, including excavators and loading shovels.
• Provide exceptional customer service while working on-site at client locations across the Northwest.
• Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure optimal machine performance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues efficiently.
• Maintain accurate service records and documentation.
• Collaborate with the technical support team to address complex issues.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations and company standards at all times.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Field Service Engineer, preferably working with heavy plant machinery.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• A relevant engineering qualification (NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
• A full UK driving license.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• The ability to work independently and manage your own schedule effectively.

Day-to-Day

• Traveling to client sites across the Northwest region, with door-to-door pay.
• Diagnosing and repairing machinery to minimize downtime for clients.
• Performing scheduled maintenance and inspections.
• Utilizing a fully equipped company van for work and personal use.
• Keeping detailed records of all work completed.
• Participating in ongoing training to stay updated on the latest technologies and equipment.
