Job summary

Record Packaging Systems Ltd is seeking a Field Service Engineer to install, service and fault‑find a wide range of packaging machinery across the UK and Ireland.

You will travel regularly, work independently with customers in bakery, confectionery, pharmaceutical and food manufacturing sectors, and contribute to preventative maintenance, upgrades and service contracts. The role offers structured training, a company vehicle and ongoing career progression within a growing business.

Qualifications

• Strong multi-skilled engineer with willingness to learn.
• Previous experience with packaging machinery or fast-paced automated equipment will be an advantage.
• Good communication skills and work ethic.
• Comfortable to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Installation and commissioning of packaging machinery (flow wrappers, VFFS, tray sealers, etc.).
• Electrical and mechanical fault finding, diagnostics, and repair.
• Preventative maintenance and servicing in line with service agreements.
• Identifying opportunities for upgrades, spares, and service contracts.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an enthusiastic Field Service Engineer to join a growing and dynamic business. This role is critical to maintaining our reputation for exceptional aftersales support and technical expertise across the UK and Ireland.

You will be responsible for the installation, servicing, fault‑finding, and maintenance of a wide range of packaging machinery, working directly with customers across sectors including bakery, confectionery, pharmaceutical, and food manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

• Installation and commissioning of packaging machinery (flow wrappers, VFFS, tray sealers, etc.)
• Electrical and mechanical fault finding, diagnostics, and repair
• Preventative maintenance and servicing in line with service agreements
• Identifying opportunities for upgrades, spares, and service contracts

Equipment You’ll Work On

• Horizontal flow wrappers
• Vertical form‑fill‑seal (VFFS) machines
• Tray sealers and thermoformers
• Case packing and end‑of‑line automation systems
• Conveyor systems, coding equipment, and integration lines

What We’re Looking For

• Strong multi-skilled engineer with willingness to learn
• Previous experience with packaging machinery or fast-paced automated equipment will be an advantage

• Comfortable to work independently
• Full UK driving licence
