Job summary

TalentTech Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Field Service Engineer to service, install, and train customers on commercial refrigeration equipment across Maidstone and surrounding areas. The role offers a daytime schedule (40 hours/week) with guaranteed basic salary and overtime potential.

You will handle engineering duties, customer training, and safety with F-Gas qualifications, while maintaining strong client relationships and ensuring quality installations.

Qualifications

• F-Gas refrigerant handling qualification (2079 or 2078) is required.
• Full UK driving licence is required.
• Strong customer service and communication skills are essential.
• Electrical competence is required to service equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and emergency maintenance on refrigeration units.
• Install new equipment and conduct initial setup and commissioning.
• Provide on-site training to clients on equipment operation and care.
• Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults and implement corrective actions.
• Follow a 1-in-4 call-out rota for weekends, with days only.
• Bank holiday overtime available with time off in lieu.

Field Service Engineer – Chilled Catering Equipment

Locations: Maidstone, Brighton, Crawley, Eastbourne – Kent & Sussex

Compensation and Benefits

• £36,000 Basic Salary
• £25 per day within the M25 area
• Uncapped overtime & bonus (approximately £10,000+)

Role Overview

You will be responsible for servicing, installing, repairing and providing training on specialist commercial refrigeration equipment, including fridges, display cabinets, coolers, chillers, ice machines and ice‑cream machines. The role is daytime only, with a 40‑hour week, no overnights or evenings.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine and emergency maintenance on refrigeration units.
• Install new equipment and conduct initial setup and commissioning.
• Provide on‑site training to clients on equipment operation and care.
• Use F‑Gas qualification to handle refrigerants safely.
• Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults and implement corrective actions.
• Follow a 1‑in‑4 call‑out rota for weekends, with days only.
• Optionally work bank holidays for overtime and receive time off in lieu.

Qualifications and Experience

• Refrigerant handling qualification 2079 or 2078 (F‑Gas).
• Experience in a field service role preferred but not essential.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Electrical competence.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Right to work in the UK without sponsorship.

Working Conditions

Day‑time only schedule, 40 hours per week. No overnight or evening duties. Call‑out rota: 1‑in‑4 weekend days only. Bank holiday overtime available.
