Job summary

TalentTech Recruitment Ltd is assisting a client in Cornwall and Devon to recruit a Field Service Engineer. The role covers servicing, installing, repairing, and training on specialist commercial refrigeration equipment across venues in Plymouth, Falmouth, Truro and Newquay.

The ideal candidate will hold a current F-Gas qualification (2079/2078), have a full UK driving licence and be comfortable working daytime hours with occasional weekend duties.

Qualifications

• Must hold a refrigerant handling qualification (F-Gas 2079/2078).
• Full UK driving licence and right to work in the UK.
• Field service experience preferred but not essential.
• Be personable and professional when on client sites.

Responsibilities

• Service, install, repair and provide training on a range of commercial refrigeration equipment (fridges, display cabinets, coolers, chillers, ice machines).
• Utilise F-Gas qualification daily and demonstrate basic electrical/mechanical problem-solving.
• Daytime role with ~40 hours/week, 1-in-4 weekend callouts; overtime on bank holidays with time off in lieu.

£36,000 Basic Salary + Uncapped Overtime & Bonus (~£10k+) + Vehicle + Further Benefits

Our client is looking for somebody who is F-gas qualified and ultimately seeking an easier way of life on smaller pieces of equipment.

Your Role as a Field Service Engineer:

• As a field service engineer you will be servicing, installing, repairing and providing training on a range of specialist commercial refrigeration equipment.
• Examples include fridges, display cabinets, coolers, chillers, ice machines, and ice-cream machines.
• Utilising your F-Gas qualification on a daily basis, this will also test your basic electrical and mechanical problem-solving skills.
• A daytime only role with no overnights or evening work, typically 40 hours per week
• 1-in-4 call out rota for weekends; days only.
• Option to work bank holidays for overtime AND time off in lieu.

Ideal Background for the Field Service Engineer:

• You must hold a refrigerant handling qualification such as 2079 or 2078 (F-Gas).
• Experience in a field service role is preferable but not essential.
• Be personable and professional when on client sites.
• You’ll be electrically competent.
• Hold a full UK driving licence and have right to work in the UK without sponsorship.
