Job summary

Rachel Hill Resourcing is seeking a competent Service Technician to diagnose, service, and repair a range of machinery across our product lines. This is a customer-facing role requiring you to build strong relationships within the service sector and to present a professional image while delivering world-class service.

You will work with hydraulic systems, transmissions, axles, and cam-bus electricals, liaising with manufacturers for support and warranty work.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2, 3 or equivalent in relevant sectors.
• Experience in construction, HGV or agriculture heavy plant machinery servicing and maintenance.
• Full UK driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose faults, service, and repair machinery across product lines.
• Carry out routine maintenance and inspections on heavy plant equipment.
• Identify mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues and apply repair solutions.
• Communicate with customers to provide updates and technical support.
• Follow health and safety procedures at all times.

Salary: £36000 Basic Salary | £49000 OTE
Job Type: Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday | 8am to 4:30pm
Overtime after 8 hours, the first 4 hours at time and a half, thereafter paid at double time (daily).

Job Summary:

The main duties of this role are Machine Diagnostics, Servicing and Repairs to all product ranges. This is a customer facing role which requires you to build strong customer relationships within the Service sector of our business. You will need to promote and present a professional image and offer service solutions to our customers and frequently liaise with the manufacturer. The objective of this role is to provide the customer with a World Class customer service experience.

Job Duties

• Diagnose faults, service, and repair a range of machinery within the company’s product lines
• Carry out routine maintenance and inspections on construction, HGV, agricultural, or heavy plant equipment
• Identify mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues and implement effective repair solutions
• Work with hydraulic systems (open and closed loop), transmissions, axles, and cam-bus electrical systems
• Communicate directly with customers to provide updates, advice, and technical support
• Maintain a professional image while delivering high-quality customer service on-site or in the workshop
• Liaise with equipment manufacturers for technical support, warranty work, and specialist guidance
• Complete all job documentation and service reports accurately and in a timely manner
• Follow company health and safety procedures at all times
• Support team members when required and work collaboratively to meet service targets
• Use diagnostic equipment and tools to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical faults
• Continuously look for ways to improve efficiency and service delivery

Requirements:

• NVQ Level 2, 3 or equivalent and have experience in the construction, HGV or agriculture heavy plant machinery sectors including servicing and maintenance then this could be the role for you.
• Experience on hydraulic systems, open and closed loop, axles, transmissions manual and power shift, cam-bus electrical systems and working on plant machinery or equivalent
• Full UK driving licence required.
