Job summary

Wallace Hind Selection LTD is seeking a Field Service Engineer to repair, refurbish, install and commission end-of-line packaging machinery across the UK. You should have hands-on Siemens PLC experience, fault finding skills, and the ability to upgrade controls.

You will travel nationwide, spending 2–3 nights away per week and about one weekend per month, with full training provided and a strong multi-skilled electrical background.

Qualifications

• Proven Field Service Engineer with hands-on packaging machinery experience in food/beverage sectors.
• Experience fault finding, modifying and upgrading Siemens PLCs or similar.
• Hands-on repair, refurbishment, installation and commissioning of end-of-line packaging equipment.
• Willingness to travel UK and Ireland; 2–3 nights away per week; one weekend per month.

Responsibilities

• Repair, refurbish, install and commission end-of-line packaging machinery including PLC work.
• Cover the UK and Ireland; travel is required with overnight stays.
• Provide on-site fault finding and PLC upgrades where needed.

Job description

A great Field Service Engineer role! We want to find an accomplished and qualified Multi-skilled Engineer who has specific experience of fault finding AND ideally, specifically of modifying and upgrading of Siemens PLC`s (or similar) used in end of line packaging machinery.

BASIC SALARY: up to £50,000

BENEFITS:

• Overtime to earn circa £65,000

LOCATION: Home based and ideally living in the Midlands or North of England (although Midlands preferable)

COMMUTABLE LOCATIONS: Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham, Nottingham, Stoke, Sheffield, Leicester

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Field Service Engineer, Controls Engineer, Electrical Engineer - Siemens PLCs, industrial capital equipment, packaging machinery

A classic Field Service Engineer role involving repair, refurbishment, installation and commissioning of end of line packaging machinery including working with PLC`s, ideally capable of fault finding, modifying and upgrading of Siemens PLC`s, or similar.

You will be covering the whole of the UK and Ireland, and will be expected to spend 2 to 3 nights per week away from home, plus working one weekend a month on average.

• Full training will be offered on the job and occasionally at HQ in Europe.
• Full training will also be provided on upgrading & modifying PLC`s.
• Overtime is paid door to door.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

• You MUST have a proven track record as a Field Service Engineer with hands on packaging machinery experience working in the food and/or beverage markets.
• You will be a Multi-skilled Engineer with electrical & electronic engineering qualifications and ideally specific experience and training on fault finding, modifying & upgrading of Siemens PLC`s, or similar.
• We will consider applicants with a track record as a Factory Maintenance Engineer who have hands on end of line packaging machinery experience, used in the food and/or beverage market and who have the PLC knowledge mentioned above.
