Job summary

Astute People is seeking a Field Service Engineer to join our team and support the renewable energy portfolio. You will work across sites, assisting with planned inspections and reactive maintenance, with a focus on electrical testing and safety documentation.

The role requires a UK driving licence and a proactive attitude towards field-based work, with opportunities to grow in the solar and energy storage sectors.

Qualifications

• Must have NVQ Level 3 Electrical or equivalent.
• C&G 2391 testing and inspection qualification.
• 17th/18th edition wiring regulations preferred.
• Full UK driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planned inspection and maintenance per requirements.
• Perform reactive maintenance, fault diagnosis and resolution.
• Carry out site surveys as required.
• Prepare accurate documentation for stakeholders.
• Keep records of electrical testing, HV and safety docs.
• Ensure work meets quality, reliability and cost targets.
• Comply with Health & Safety policy.

Job description

This role comes with a salary of £30,000 - £38,000 DOE, company van and provides an excellent opportunity to move into the utility scale solar world.

Responsibilities and duties

Reporting to the Head of Operations you will:

• Assisting with planned inspection and maintenance according to legal, technical, manufacturer and contractual requirements. Learning around reactive maintenance, fault diagnosis and standard operating procedures
• Performing reactive maintenance, fault diagnosis and resolution in a timely manner
• Carrying out site surveys requests as required
• Compiling accurate and appropriate documentation for both internal and external stakeholders in a precise and timely manner
• Keeping accurate and detailed records of electrical testing, High Voltage and safety documents that are suitable for audit
• Ensuring that work output meets technical quality, reliability, cost, and productivity
• Complying with the company Health & Safety Policy

Professional qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 Electrical Qualifications or equivalent
• C&G 2391 Testing and Inspection
• 17th/18th (preferably) edition wiring regulations
• Ideally at least a year's experience from within in a maintenance work in either an industrial, commercial or even domestic capacity
• Full UK Licence

Personal skills

• Keen to get into renewables A real passion for renewable technologies such as solar PV, battery storage etc
• Happy to travel around to sites in a field-based role
• Passionate about personal development and growth

• Salary of between £30,000 to £38,000 Depending on experience
