Job summary

Net Zero Evolution is seeking an experienced Solar PV Maintenance Electrician to service commercial solar PV installations across Reading and surrounding areas. You will lead planned maintenance, fault finding and repairs, ensuring safety, compliance and optimal performance for systems powering schools, public buildings and organisations.

This role combines home-based work with field visits, offering training in battery storage and EV charging technologies as you expand your renewables

Qualifications

• Qualified electrician with Level 3 electrical qualification and 18th Edition.
• Experience installing, commissioning or maintaining commercial solar PV systems.
• Ability to fault-find, inspect and test AC/DC systems and interpret drawings.

Responsibilities

• Owns planned preventative maintenance across a portfolio of commercial solar PV installations.
• Performs fault finding, inspection, testing, and repairs, ensuring safety and performance.
• Travels to customer sites across the South of England and contributes to energy projects.

About you

You'll be a qualified electrician holding a recognised Level 3 electrical qualification and current 18th Edition certification, with practical experience installing, commissioning or maintaining commercial solar PV systems. You'll be confident carrying out electrical fault finding, inspection and testing across AC and DC systems, interpreting technical drawings and producing accurate maintenance reports.

You'll enjoy working independently, have a professional approach when dealing with customers and be willing to travel throughout the South of England. Additional qualifications such as Inspection and Testing, ECS Gold Card, Solar PV certification or experience with battery storage, EV charging infrastructure, inverter diagnostics or monitoring platforms would be advantageous but are not essential.
