Job summary

Astute is seeking a Solar O&M Technician to join its Renewables team in the UK. The role offers a salary up to £40,000 plus a company van and fuel card, door-to-door payments, and potential overtime.

Qualified Electrician with Level 3 and valid UK driving licence encouraged to apply. You will report to the Area Manager, perform maintenance on solar and battery storage assets, ensure HSE compliance, test DC/AC systems, update firmware, and analyse data to improve operations.

Qualifications

• At least a level 3 qualification in electrical installation.
• 2391 test and inspection is hugely preferred.
• Solar experience is preferred but not essential.
• Any health and safety qualifications are a benefit.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Report to Area Manager and ensure the best performance of large-scale renewable energy assets.
• Perform operations and maintenance duties across solar and battery storage sites.
• Adhere to all HSE requirements while completing duties.
• Test both DC and AC systems, locate faults and trace issues.
• Conduct firmware updates and use computer systems to diagnose asset issues.
• Regular inspection, maintenance and testing of systems.
• Analyze trends and use data to propose operational improvements.
• Occasional electrical works across site facilities and electrics.
• Be flexible to work across patches as needed.

Astute's Renewables team is partnering with a leading renewable energy provider with a strong commitment to sustainability, professional development and its people, to recruit a Solar O&M Technician for its operations.

The Solar O&M Technician role comes with a salary of up to £40,000, plus van, fuel card and door to door payments, plus the opportunity for overtime.

Responsibilities and duties

• Reporting to the Area Manager you will:
• Ensure the best performance of large-scale renewable energy assets
• Perform operations and maintenance duties across the portfolio of solar and battery storage sites
• Ensure adherence to all HSE requirements when completing your duties
• Test both DC and AC systems, looking for faults and tracing issues
• Conduct firmware updates and use computer systems to look for issues with the assets
• Consistent inspection, maintenance and testing of the systems
• Looking for trends and using data analysis to see if you can spot any common trends and suggest ways to improve operations as a result
• Occasional electrical works across the site including the welfare cabins and other associated electrics
• Occasional working way from your patch/area and be flexible to help when the business needs this

Professional qualifications
