Job summary

NEOS Engineering Recruitment is seeking a Field Service Engineer to service and repair heavy plant machinery across Oxford and surrounding areas. The role offers a competitive salary and a company van, with overtime opportunities and clear career progression.

You will work on excavators, generators and related equipment, performing diagnostics and preventative maintenance on customer sites. A UK driving licence is essential, with training provided for growth.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as Field Service Engineer or similar.
• Experience on Plant Machinery, Construction Equipment, Powered Access or Generators.
• Strong mechanical and hydraulic fault-finding skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Engineers from Agricultural, HGV or Forklift backgrounds encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Servicing, maintenance and repairs on Excavators, Dumpers, Rollers, Generators and other Plant Machinery.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults at customer sites.
• Respond to machinery breakdowns and ensure equipment is returned to operation quickly.
• Complete routine servicing and preventative maintenance.
• Maintain accurate service records and liaise with depot/service teams.

Location: Oxford, Oxfordshire

Salary: £40,000 – £42,000 + Company Van + Overtime

NEOS Engineering Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Field Service Engineer to join a leading national Plant Hire company covering Oxford and the surrounding areas.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an engineer with experience working on Heavy Plant, Construction Equipment, Powered Access or Generators to join a well-established business offering excellent earning potential, a company van and long-term career progression.

The Role

As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for the servicing, maintenance, repair and breakdown support of a wide range of Plant and Construction Machinery at customer sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs on Excavators, Dumpers, Rollers, Generators, Powered Access equipment and other Plant Machinery.
• Attending customer sites to diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults.
• Responding to machinery breakdowns and ensuring equipment is returned to operation efficiently.
• Completing routine servicing and preventative maintenance.
• Carrying out inspections and ensuring machinery meets safety standards.
• Maintaining accurate service and repair records.
• Working independently in the field while liaising with the depot and service teams.

The Ideal Candidate

• Previous experience as a Field Service Engineer, Mobile Plant Engineer, Heavy Plant Fitter, Plant Mechanic or similar.
• Experience working on Plant Machinery, Construction Equipment, Agricultural Machinery, Powered Access or Generators.
• Strong mechanical and hydraulic fault-finding skills.
• Ability to diagnose and repair machinery independently.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Relevant engineering qualifications are advantageous but not essential.
• Engineers from Agricultural, HGV, Forklift and similar mechanical engineering backgrounds are also encouraged to apply.
