Our client is a successful distributor of CNC woodworking machinery. Due to continued growth, Staffbase has been appointed to recruit a Field Service Engineer.

The successful candidate will operate as a 'home-based' engineer responsible for machine installation, service, and repair throughout the UK.

Our client offers an excellent package including overtime with 'door-to-door' pay, a company vehicle + credit card, fuel card, phone, and laptop.

The Role

Reporting to the service manager, you will be responsible for electrical maintenance, service, and repair of CNC woodworking machinery. Duties include:

• Electrical installations, fault finding, and repair
• Motors, servos, 415v and 24v circuits (ability to read electrical schematics/drawings is essential)
• Contactors, sensors, relays, switches
• Control panels, wiring
• PLC fault finding and repair
• Machine installation & commissioning
• Mechanical maintenance and repair, including replacing worn components like chains, sprockets, linear bearings, and ball screws

Candidate

Ideally, you will be a multi-skilled engineer with an electrical bias and previous experience as a field service engineer. You should have experience in maintenance, service, and repair of automated/semi-automated machinery. Electrical qualifications such as NVQ3, HNC in electrical engineering, or 17th/18th edition certification are required. Good customer service and communication skills are essential, along with a friendly disposition.

Hours of Work

Monday to Friday, 40 hours + overtime, door-to-door pay. Occasional nights away from home.
