Role: Field Service Engineer

Salary: Circa £38,000 - £40,000 per annum plus O/T and other benefits

Type: Permanent

Location: Scotland

My client designs, manufactures and services a range of systems and they are looking to take on a Field Service Engineer due to growth, on a permanent basis, in the Scotland area.

The Field Service Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:

1. NVQ / HNC / HND qualification in Engineering / Electrical Engineering or similar or have the relevant experience
2. Previous experience working in a similar hands-on Field Service role covering industrial customer sites
3. Have both electrical and mechanical engineering skills and experience
4. Knowledge of Control Systems would be beneficial
5. Any exposure to ATEX environments would be desirable
6. Flexibility to travel in the UK during the first 6 months for training
7. Previous installation and service experience working with electro-mechanical equipment
8. Be self-motivated
9. Good time management capabilities to organise their own diary and service schedule
10. Be able to work well individually as well as part of a team
11. Ability to work at heights when required
12. Proficiency working with MS Office
13. Good communication skills to work well with customers
14. Full UK Driving Licence

The Field Service Engineer role will involve:

1. Working as a key member of the engineering field service team
2. Working on a range of industrial sites
3. Carrying out preventative and reactive maintenance on a range of systems
4. Diagnosing technical issues and identifying root causes
5. Providing on-site and remote technical support for customers
6. Completing EC&I site-based inspections
7. Travelling to a range of customer sites when required, sometimes at short notice
8. Maintaining service records
9. Communicating effectively with customers
10. Problem-solving as required
11. Conforming to Health & Safety regulations at all times
12. Covering mainly the North of the UK with some areas outside of this when on-call
