About the Role

Field Service Engineer - Scotland Region

Location: Ideally based between Glasgow and Edinburgh, covering all of Scotland

Salary: £37,000 - £39,000 + £5,000 car allowance + mileage

Includes 24/7 Out-of-Hours Rota (1 in 5 weeks)

Join a leading IT services provider, trusted by global partners, delivering exceptional support across enterprise infrastructure. We seek an experienced Field Service Engineer to support Server, Storage, and Network services across Scotland.

Responsibilities

1. Deliver second-line support to customers, managing technical escalations.
2. Maintain high standards of field-based service.
3. Support hardware incidents, perform maintenance, and coordinate parts replacements.
4. Build and sustain customer relationships to support maintenance and sales.
5. Represent the company professionally, providing high-quality service.
6. Participate in an on-call rota (1 in 5 weeks) for out-of-hours support.

Qualifications

• Strong background in Field Support / IT Engineering Services, preferably in Third Party Maintenance.
• Hands-on experience with Servers, Storage, Tape Backup, and Networking equipment.
• Experience with multi-vendor systems: IBM, SUN, Cisco, Dell, HP, NetApp, Fujitsu, EMC, Hitachi.
• Proven ability to support external clients in demanding environments.
• Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, face-to-face).
• Ability to prioritize and work under pressure.
• Willingness to work flexible hours as needed.
• Self-motivated with a customer-focused approach and a drive for improvement.

Additional Information

Work experience in roles such as System Engineer, Solutions Engineer, or Systems Administrator is relevant.
