Job summary

Gi Group UK is seeking a Field Service Engineer to service and repair industrial equipment from our Cheltenham HQ, with regular UK-wide travel. The role is based in Gloucestershire and requires fault-finding, installations and hands-on engineering support.

You will work a 37-hour week, servicing and repairing equipment at the workshop and on customer sites, with occasional travel to mainland Europe. Strong technical, communication and IT skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience in a technical service role repairing/servicing electrical equipment or machinery (including 3-phase).
• Strong mechanical aptitude and practical engineering experience.
• Detail-oriented with a problem-solving mindset.
• Confident working independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication and customer service skills with the ability to understand user needs.
• Competent IT skills (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Service and repair customer equipment at the Cheltenham premises
• Attend customer sites to carry out on-site servicing and repairs
• Provide installation support and training for new equipment
• Produce quotations, issue service reports, and maintain accurate work logs
• Act as a technical support backup for other engineers and end users, working closely with the wider team

Field Service Engineer (Industrial Equipment) - Gloucestershire (Cheltenham HQ) + UK Travel - £35000 per annum

An established UK manufacturer and supplier of high-quality industrial dry-steam cleaning equipment is looking to hire a Field Service Engineer to support continued growth following a recent acquisition by a global parent company. This is a hands-on role based from Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, with regular customer site work and occasional travel.

The Role

Working a 37-hour week, you'll be responsible for servicing, repairing and supporting specialist industrial equipment both at the workshop and on customer sites.

Key responsibilities

• Service and repair customer equipment at the Cheltenham premises


• Attend customer sites to carry out on-site servicing and repairs


• Provide installation support and training for new equipment


• Produce quotations, issue service reports, and maintain accurate work logs


• Act as a technical support backup for other engineers and end users, working closely with the wider team

Additional requirements

• Very occasional travel to mainland Europe may be required
