The opportunity
Packaged Water Solutions is seeking a capable, customer-focused Servicing Engineer to maintain, diagnose and repair packaged water systems at customer sites. This is a practical field role for an engineer who enjoys solving problems, working independently and delivering a professional service.
What you will do
- Plan and complete scheduled servicing and preventive maintenance visits at customer sites.
- Diagnose mechanical and system faults, identify root causes and carry out effective repairs.
- Service pumps, valves, filters, UV equipment, vessels, gauges, controls and associated pipework.
- Replace worn or failed components and undertake minor pipework modifications using appropriate materials and jointing methods.
- Support installation, testing and commissioning of new or modified packaged water systems.
- Carry out pressure, leak, flow and functional checks in accordance with safe working procedures.
- Complete clear service reports, record readings and parts used, and communicate follow-up actions promptly.
- Manage tools, test equipment, spare parts and vehicle stock so you are prepared for each visit.
- Work safely on customer premises, following risk assessments, site rules and company procedures.
- Build positive customer relationships and provide clear, practical advice on equipment condition and maintenance needs.
What we are looking for
- Practical experience in plumbing, pump servicing, pipefitting, mechanical maintenance, plant-room work or field service.
- Good working knowledge of pipework, pumps, valves and mechanical services.
- Strong fault-finding skills and the ability to read drawings, schematics and equipment manuals.
- Ability to plan site visits, manage your own workload and work effectively without close supervision.
- Professional communication and a helpful, customer-focused approach.
- A disciplined approach to safety, testing, service documentation and care of customer premises.
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to customer sites.
Useful additional experience
Any of the following would be advantageous, but applicants do not need to meet every point:
- A recognised plumbing, mechanical engineering, pump, pipefitting or building-services qualification.
- Experience servicing water-treatment equipment, filtration, UV systems, softeners or packaged plant.
- Electrical awareness and experience working safely around controls, sensors and motor-driven equipment.
- Installation, commissioning or field-service experience.
- Relevant safety training, such as CSCS, confined-space, water-hygiene or lifting certification.
- Experience producing service reports and using digital job-management systems.
What we offer
- Competitive salary of £30,000-£50,000, depending on experience.
- Occasional overtime and a performance-related bonus.
- Company pension and paid annual leave.
- Product training, professional development and scope for career progression as the company grows.
- A varied field role working on a broad range of packaged water systems and customer sites.
- Support from an experienced engineering team, with the autonomy to manage your service workload.
- The opportunity to join a growing specialist engineering business.
