Job summary

ASC Connections Ltd is seeking a skilled Service Engineer to support customers in and around Bristol, maintaining high standards of machine performance and driving industry-leading service delivery.

The role covers breakdown repair of CNC machines, on-site installation and commissioning, and end-user training. A company vehicle is provided, with 33 days holiday and a private pension. Travel and overnight stays may be required.

Qualifications

• Confidence with electrical or mechanical breakdowns
• Experience with Siemens or FANUC controls
• Knowledge of fault-finding, diagnostics, and inspections
• Willingness to travel and stay overnight when required

Responsibilities

• Breakdown repairs and maintenance of CNC Machines, including multi-axis Mills and Lathes
• Routine service and inspections, as well as fault-finding
• Mechanical and minor electrical repairs to ball screws, bearings, gearboxes, pumps, and motors
• Machine levelling and alignments
• Installation and commissioning of machinery on site
• Ordering of parts from the office, replacing and retrofitting
• Providing end-user training and customer support both remotely and on-site

Service Engineer responsibilities:

• Breakdown repairs and maintenance of CNC Machines, including multi-axis Mills and Lathes
• Routine service and inspections, as well as fault-finding
• Carrying out mechanical and minor electrical repairs to ball screws, bearings, gearboxes, pumps, and motors
• Machine levelling and alignments
• Installation and commissioning of machinery on site
• Ordering of parts from the office, replacing and retrofitting
• Providing end-user training and customer support both remotely and on-site

Service Engineer requirements:

• Confidence with either electrical or mechanical breakdowns of machinery
• Experience of working with either Siemens or FANUC controls
• Good knowledge of fault-finding, diagnostics checking and equipment inspections
• Willingness to travel and be prepared to stay overnight when required
