Job summary

Merritt Recruitment is seeking a field-based Sales Manager for the chemical packaging and repacking sector in the UK. You will identify new customers, build strategic relationships with decision-makers and promote tailored repacking solutions to drive revenue growth.

You will own developing the pipeline, negotiating commercial terms and expanding existing accounts, with support from an established operations team to deliver on customer commitments.

Qualifications

• Proven B2B sales and new business development experience.
• Experience in chemical repacking, contract filling, toll manufacturing or related chemical services.
• Knowledge of chemical packaging formats (drums, IBCs, bags, pails, cans).
• Understanding of chemical handling, packaging requirements and compliance.
• Strong negotiation and commercial awareness, including pricing and margins.
• Proactive, self-motivated hunter with appetite for winning new business.
• Must have unrestricted right to work in the UK (sponsorship not available).

Responsibilities

• Identifying and winning new customers across the chemical manufacturing market.
• Developing relationships with key decision-makers and growing existing accounts.
• Promoting specialist chemical repacking, filling and packaging solutions.
• Understanding customer requirements and developing commercially competitive proposals.
• Negotiating pricing, contracts and service agreements to maximise profitability.
• Working closely with internal operational teams to ensure customer expectations are met.
• Monitoring market trends, identifying new opportunities and staying ahead of competitors.
• Managing your sales pipeline, forecasts and performance against revenue and margin targets.
