Job Description:

Field Sales Executive

Location: Nottingham and Leicester

Hours of Work: 9 am to 5 pm

Field-based role involving HQ visits and offsite meetings.

Salary: Up to £25,000-£27,000 per annum plus a 10% performance bonus. Benefits include laptop, phone, group benefits (DIS, Pension, Health Shield Cash Back Plan), 20 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays, and a company van or car.

This role involves driving new retail distribution points by selling products within the Independent Retail Sector (Convenience, CTN, Grocery, etc.). The successful candidate will manage a designated territory, visiting retailers to promote the service, acting as the key link between the brand and Smiths News/Instore.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Drive sales and distribution targets to KPIs across various accounts.
  • Develop strong customer relationships and identify new distribution opportunities.
  • Seek key accounts with bulk distribution potential.
  • Maximize brand presence and ensure all calls are completed as per the territory plan.
  • Maintain high performance to meet KPIs and communicate effectively with colleagues and managers.
  • Provide feedback and escalate issues proactively.
  • Understand the client’s business and products thoroughly.
  • Complete administrative tasks efficiently.
  • Understand retail landscape and seasonal opportunities.
  • Utilize tools to ensure ongoing product ordering via Smiths News network.
Ideal Candidate:
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience in sales or retail, preferably in FMCG or consumer goods.
  • Strong relationship-building skills and sales techniques.
  • Experience in remote field activities and achieving sales targets.
  • Organizational and planning skills, with a focus on sales conversion through education.
  • Analytical skills and successful sales track record.
  • Ability to influence change and document ideas for performance improvement.
